Ter inspiratie voor zijn debuutalbum 'Everyday Magic' was Tim Dawn (Thijs Vroegop in het gewone leven) naar LA afgereisd. Daar, in het walhalla van de popmuziek, werkte hij met verschillende songwriters en producers aan nieuwe liedjes. Die tijd was een muzikaal leerproces: "LA heeft me geïnspireerd. Ik kwam daar in aanraking met een fijne mentaliteit en een hoop getalenteerde mensen. Aan de andere kant werd daar in het mekka van de moderne popproducties ook heel duidelijk wat ik niet ben: de snelle jongen van de nieuwste trends. Ik ben liever de integere, tijdloze singer-songwriter en artiest.”

Op het album blijft Tim dan ook dicht bij hoe hij ooit begon: als singer-songwriter die mooie, melodieuze liedjes met inhoud wil maken om het leven meer diepte te geven. Hoopvol maar niet naïef. Toegankelijk maar niet oppervlakkig. Zijn sound is in de basis organisch, maar door de gelaagdheid en moderne elementen voelen de liedjes tegelijkertijd fris en tijdloos. In zijn teksten zoekt hij de poëzie in dagelijkse dingen.

“En liefde is het ultieme voorbeeld van everyday magic”. Tim Dawn brak eind 2018 door met single 'Walking On A Wire', die NPO Radio 2 TopSong werd en miljoenen keren werd gestreamd op Spotify. Tweede single Bite The Bullet werd tevens NPO Radio 2 TopSong. In december 2020 volgde de hit 'To Love Somebody' een cover van de Bee Gees die onder de kerstreclame van PLUS supermarkten zat.

A smaller pillow is easy to flip end-to-end in the middle of the night. I did not notice any unpleasant smell — and I am usually sensitive to that kind of thing. Would highly recommend.
