Op zijn negende album, The City Is Coming to Erase it All, schaart Fink-voorman Fin Greenall zich onder de authentieke, 'stille' revolutionaire artiesten uit Zuidwest-Engeland. De cultklassieker Fully Qualified Survivor (1970) van Michael Chapman diende als het grote kompas voor Greenall en zijn bandleden Tim Thornton en Guy Whittaker tijdens het creatieve proces.

De opener 'Wishing For Blue Sky' vangt het universele tienerverlangen naar het begin van het echte leven. Toch is het album eerder "nowstalgie" dan pure nostalgie. Er loopt een parallel tussen de 18-jarige jongens die de wereld introkken en de huidige gezinsmannen van de band. Ondanks hun gesettelde leven blijft de zucht naar avontuur groot. "Je wordt geacht saai te zijn op deze leeftijd," zegt Thornton, "maar we willen er nog steeds op uit om dingen te ontdekken en te bereiken."
