The 2020 vintage saw early bud burst and summer heatwaves that reduced yields, but our elevated vineyards (250 500 masl) produced full flavored wines with good structure and balanced acidity. Pedra a Pedra Tinto is an approachable, fruit-driven Douro red made from indigenous grape varieties grown on schist-terraced vineyards. The 2020 vintage saw early bud burst and summer heatwaves that reduced yields, but our elevated vineyards (250-500 masl) produced full-flavored wines with good structure and balanced acidity.
Handpicked grapes are destemmed and fermented by wild yeasts at 20-25°C for 10 days on skins, using foot treading in granite lagares and gentle plunging in stainless steel tanks. After draining and pressing, wines undergo MLF in stainless steel tanks (70%) and old French oak (30%), then mature sur lie for 18 months. Touriga Nacional contributes texture and luscious red/blue fruits; Tinta Barroca adds juicy vibrancy; Touriga Franca brings structure and rich black fruits; and Sousão provides deep color and lively acidity.
