The French army entered World War II as a formidable force, boasting superior equipment, tanks, and artillery. Their numerous infantry divisions were confident in their ability to repel the hated Germans, as they had done twenty-two years prior. However, this was a different war. The French infantry found themselves facing German armored units that outmaneuvered them during the Blitzkrieg, sweeping across Europe. Driven by a sense of honor and loyalty to their regiments, many Frenchmen dug in and fought bravely against their tactically superior foes. They fought resolutely against the German onslaught at battles like Hannut, Arra, Boulogne, and Saumur. Some Frenchmen later joined forces with Vichy France, fighting against the Allies, earning both admiration and contempt. Others eventually returned to France with the Allied invasion in 1944 to reclaim their homeland.

This versatile plastic boxed set allows you to assemble the miniatures as regular French Army infantry, fortress troops, chasseurs à pied, engineers, or colonial troops (Algerian, Moroccan, or Tunisian). The box contains 30 multi-pose plastic infantry with plastic bases and a full-color waterslide decal sheet. Models are supplied unassembled and unpainted.
