A reprinting of author Chris Scott ThompsonÕs Highland Martial Arts trilogy (Highland Knife Fighting, Highland Broadsword, and Highland Martial Culture), with a new and updated introduction from the author that corrects and clarifies the text with new information.

HIGHLAND KNIFE FIGHTING
In this entertaining and informative look at the Highland dirk, author Christopher Thompson examines a number of Scottish historical and oral sources to document the role of the knife in Gaelic society. Although worn by all classes of society, the dirk was the primary weapon of the common clansmen, and since it was worn indoors as well as outdoors, it was the favored weapon for acts of revenge and self-defense.

HIGHLAND BROADSWORD
The lessons in Highland Broadsword are designed to help you learn the fundamentals of broadsword fighting, with an emphasis on developing practical skills, not on exploring the esoteric details of broadsword fencing theory.

HIGHLAND MARTIAL CULTURE
The revival of interest in historical Western martial arts has focused a great deal of attention on the weapons of Scotland, especially of the Highlanders. Yet, despite all this enthusiasm for the martial arts of the Highland, few of those practicing have experienced genuine Gaelic culture a and without a cultural context, no practice of martial arts can be considered complete.
ÒHighland Martial CultureÓ examines the nature of the Gaelic warrior class and its martial training; the Gaelic duel and how it differed from the duel in continental Europe; the phenomenon of wandering swordsmen in Highland society; the Highland conception of honor; internal aspects of martial arts practice such as mental tricks, traditional charms and spells used in warfare; unusual skills such as the fast draw; and health practices associated with the warrior class.
This is your chance to find out more about the rich cultural heritage associated with the practice of Highland weapons.

FUN AND DONE!
Color: Orange
First, I looove that I could get this dog toy in my favorite color! The orange color also helps to locate it, if your doggo has rolled it somewhere you don't know. This bowl toy is very durable, safe, and easy to pull open and fill. The only reason I don't give it 5 Stars is because the opening is so big, after it's closed, that unless you have pretty large pieces/treats in it, or jam-pack them in, they easily fall out, when my dog rolls the toy around. What I do, is put a whole Greenie in the bowl and then add treats around it. She's thrilled to have a treat or two spill out, as she rolls the bowl around. But what really keeps her occupied is trying to get to the Greenie. This is where the durability plays such a key role! Our dog is a Pit-Terrier and an extremely aggressive chewer, but the fold in the bowl is so strong that even her attempts to chew through it or claw it out don't work. That said, I would still supervise your dog's play with this. I know, if she really wanted to, our dog could eventually chew through the strong material to get to the Greenie, but thank goodness it's too thick and too wedged in to be worth all that time. The awkward shape of the bowl also makes it hard for her to grip it in her mouth foe chewing. For a dog's quick fun, amusement, and reward, this is a winner!!

After two years pups still love this
Color: Blue Lil Snoop
My pups really love this ball and they spend a long time trying to get kibbles or freeze dried chicken. It’s been 2 years since purchase and it’s still in good shape. I highly recommend.

Great for mental stimulation. Durable for my chewers!
Color: Purple Lil Snoop, Color: Purple Lil Snoop
Love these! Quality material, safe for dogs — I make my dogs home made freezer treats and fill these up with it, and serve. Keeps them busy for hours. It’s also fun for them to roll it around to get regular treats out of. Toy + treats = a very happy pup. This size I got for my puppy. The larger ones I use for my adult dogs. Super cute too, and silent! I have Mini Aussies, so it’s great mental stimulation for them. Tires them out.

No challenge once they figure it out once, or if they have a long nose
Color: Blue
The first time I used this with my 9 month old Shepard mix, it was great. We used about 1/3 cup of her kibble and added the Nook to make it harder. It kept her working for 20-30 minutes. However, now that she knows how to remove the Nook, and stick her snout into the opening and lick up the kibble, it lasts about 5 minutes, and is no longer a challenge. She still enjoys playing with this, even when it is empty, and hasn't it destroyed it yet, so for that 3 stars.

Awesome toy, add peanut butter
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
I love this, and so does my dog! Yes, plain kibble can fall out too easily, so I put a blob of peanut butter in too and that helps it stick better. Bigger treats work great, as well. Its big and slippery enough that she can't rip it apart, which is great. Absolutely recommend, it's cute to see my dog flip and nose this around. I will probably getting the purple one too, as they are quite affordable. A+
