The Rat GDF15 (Growth Differentiation Factor 15) ELISA immunoassay kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat GDF15. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat GDF15 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat GDF15, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat GDF15. You can calculate the concentration of Rat GDF15 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Be patient with the awful odor and greasy texture because it soaks in and smell dissipates

I think i'll edit this review after using consistently for a month or so, but this is my initial impression after 2 uses. First of all, the god awful stench was so off-putting that at first i thought 'there is no way i can use this. It is so disgusting and overbearing'. But it does soak in very quickly and the smell does dissipate if you can just get through it for a bit. (you will not walk around all day smelling awful). So the greasy, oily feeling initially and the awful smell does dissipate and it soaks into the skin beautifully. It is definitely worth continued use to see the results. Just be forewarned if you don't like overbearing bad smells (and i mean it smells like you fell into a pool of insect repellent), you will have to persevere.
