By placing a second idler gear in the portal box, the load gets spread over twice as much surface area for more reliable torque transfer and the strongest gear set you can get. Two idler gears don’t do a thing if they’re not mated perfectly, though. Precision CNC grinding ensures ours do. Our gears are made from the industry’s toughest 9310 steel alloy. No matter what type of riding you do, we’ve got a gear reduction that will make you better at it. If your favorite ride is through deep mud or all over killer rock gardens, get a 30% gear reduction. It gives you more torque so you can turn bigger tires through all sorts of crazy terrain. Want to hit top speed with tires that aren’t as huge? Stick with a 15% gear reduction. It still gives you enough torque to make you grin, but saves more of your top-end speed.
