An eye-opening look at how young Arab- and Muslim- Americans are forging lives for themselves in a country that often mistakes them for the enemy

Just over a century ago, W.E.B. Du Bois posed a probing question in his classic The Souls of Black Folk How does it feel to be a problem? Now, Moustafa Bayoumi asks the same about America's new "problem"-Arab- and Muslim-Americans. Bayoumi takes readers into the lives of seven twenty-somethings living in Brooklyn, home to the largest Arab-American population in the United States. He moves beyond stereotypes and clich s to reveal their often unseen struggles, from being subjected to government surveillance to the indignities of workplace discrimination. Through it all, these young men and women persevere through triumphs and setbacks as they help weave the tapestry of a new society that is, at its heart, purely American.

Great content, horrible formatting
Format: Kindle, Format: Kindle
I am only a quarter way through the book and can see it is excellent in terms of content - the kind of book that makes the reader quite angry at the way things have been done behind the scenes (much like Patel's "Government Gangsters" and "Kennnedy's "The Real Anthony Fauci"). However, a warning to those who get the Kindle version - it is formatted horribly. After having read dozens of books on my iPad mini using the Kindle app over the years, this is the first bok where hyphens are in words that do not break on line endings, which seems minor but after a few dozen instances gets really annoying. I hope some AI reads these reviews and sends a note to whoever edited this thing (or converted it to an e-book) to rectify this stupid situation. Attached are two screen shots, both from page 39 - where I high-lit the offending words...
