Strong mental faculties and a vigorous constitution were among the attributes of Zenas Leonard, according to the publisher of the 1839 edition of this book, which the Bison Books edition reproduces. In the spring of 1830, Leonard, a native of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, ventured to embark in an expedition across the Rocky Mountains, in the capacity of clerk to the company. The last letter received by his parents, left him at the extreme white settlement Independence, Missouri], where they were busily occupied in making preparations for the expedition to the mountains--from whence he promised to write at short intervals; but one misfortune after another happening to the company, he was deprived of all sources of communication--so that no tidings were received of him until he unexpectedly returned to the scenes of his childhood, to the house of his father, in the fall of 1835--after an absence of 5 years and 6 months Written in response to popular demand, so to speak, Leonard's account of these years, based in large part on a minute journal of every incident that occurred, is recognized as one of the fundamental sources on the exploration of the American West. A free trapper until the summer of 1833, when he entered the employ of Captain B. L. E. Bonneville, Leonard was part of the group sent under command of Captain Joseph Walker to explore the Great Salt Lake region--an expedition that resulted in Walker's finding the overland route to California. The Narrative ends in August 1835, with Leonard's return to Independence.

I love these!
Flavor Name: Kalamata, Size: 1.1 Ounce (Count of 6)
I love these kalamata olives with just olive oil - it's so hard to find them pre-packaged or jarred with JUST olive oil, and not some added oregano or something. These are great to have around as snacks and are great portable snacks if you're going somewhere (so many snacks are sweet, so it's good to have a savory option). Just the right amount for a snack.

Flavor Name: Kalamata, Size: 1.1 Ounce (Count of 6)
I love olives especially kalamatas! I just wish there were more than eight of these in each little pouch. I'd be willing to pay more for that honestly! That's how good these are! Highly recommend these!

Not good
Flavor Name: Kalamata, Size: 1.1 Ounce (Count of 6)
These were mushy, very small and salty. I was expecting nice crisp large olives that I love. It is packed in olive oil. Shark tank said they were nice and dry (easily to eat). They are not. Disappointed.

The perfect car food. Tides me over nicely until I can get home or to the grocery store. Good quality. No questionable ingredients. Just really high-quality Kalamata olives in a convenient small pack! Will buy again!

They’re all good!
Flavor Name: Variety, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 5)
The original is classic! Simple ingredients, clean taste, medium thickness to the slices, not too dry, great coriander taste. Only 6 ingredients. Love it. The peri-peri has a nice slow burn Lemon pepper has subtle flavors and flirts with perfection. Minimalist biltong - just beef, salt, vinegar. A little salty (not too much). Really nice but, as expected, lacks depth. Similar to the original, with addition of rosemary and garlic. Yum! The garlic adds lots of umami to an already umami-rich snack.
