Shortly after recording the tracks that would make up their 1994 psych-punk classic Can Kill You, Austin's FUCKEMOS graduated from making living room recordings to tracking in a professional studio. Done on the cheap, the quick and dirty session resulted in Tape 2, a 14-song collection that now is enjoying it's first official release, some 20-plus years after it was recorded. The touchstones that made Can Kill You so brilliant are amplified on Tape 2: thicker guitars, boomier drums, and an improved overall sonic clarity. And singer Russell Porter's pitch-shifted vocals, mostly improvised in one take, are as gonzo as ever. This is a wonderful adjunct to any text for anyone interested in Homeric Greek.
It reads well in and of itself and seems to be highly accurate.

Good standard pony
Format: Hardcover
I recommend this book for scholars who want to read the original Greek but don't want the burden of translating. I like the small size of the book that can be toted around to the doctor's and on an airplane. There are enough notes on difficult passages to make the casual reader aware of the specialist's debate.

what most people want in a loeb library book

The language and translation are fine. I was hoping for an unabridged version with nothing left out. Not so, I am pretty sure there is more that has been expurgated. I might be wrong
