Die Oberfläche beginnt leicht zu rosten, was auch dazu führt, dass das Pferd mehr schäumt und das Gebiss besser akzeptiert. Für die doppelt gebrochenen Mundstücke werden Kupfereinsätze verwendet, die von Anfang an einen süßeren Geschmack haben.
