Der Honig wird dabei nicht überhitzt. Man kann den Auftauer auch dazu verwenden, den Honig warm zu halten, sodass der Abfüllzeitpunkt hinausgezögert werden kann.

Alle Apparate sind auf 230 V ausgelegt. Das Thermostat kann zwischen 30° und 85° eingestellt werden. Die elektrischen Anschlüsse zum Heizelement sind mit Plastik überzogen, sodass eventuelles Kondenswasser keinen Schaden verursachen kann.
