Smirking, dim-witted, grimacing or disgusted - that is how the character studies cast in lead or cut into alabaster appear to viewers: sculptures that do not adhere to any classical ideal of beauty but confront the viewer with a typology of the ugly. The fascinating character heads by the baroque sculptor Franz Xaver Messerschmidt may be indebted to his contemporary Johann Kaspar Lavater, yet, they never cease to amaze with their untimely artistic aggressiveness, modernism even, exposing the flip sides of human expression. Messerschmidt, who created conventional portraits of dignitaries such as Empress Maria Theresia or Joseph II while teaching at the Imperial Academy in Vienna, began to turn exclusively to character heads around 1770, a fact that quickly gained him the reputation of a maverick. Having taken early retirement due to a psychological disorder that was never clearly defined, he spent the rest of his life as a recluse in Pressburg. This extensive monograph about an exceptional artist attempts an interpretation of the "deeper meaning" of an oeuvre which is as unusual as it is uncompromising. (German edition available 3-7757-1245-3) The artist: Franz Xaver Messerschmidt (Wiesensteig 1736-1783 Pressburg), born as one of the numerous children in a dyer's family in the area Göppingen/Oberamt Geislingen, Württemberg. Move to Munich in 1746, subsequent apprenticeships with his uncles Johann Baptist Straub, wood sculptor at the Munich court, and Philipp Jakob Straub, sculptor in Graz. In 1755, studies in Vienna; from 1760 work for the imperial court, Vienna. Travels to Rome in 1765. From 1769, substitute professor for sculpture at the academy in Vienna. Moves to Pressburg in 1777.Shipping Notes

Comfy but holes.
Size: Large, Color: A-multicolor(6 Pack)
Comfy and cute - holes and falling apart already. Im not sure if I just got a bad batch/pair, but the seam at the crotch connecting to the "gusset" is detaching in the black one... I really liked them too. Only worn them like 2 or 3 times, so now im worried about wearing the others.

Not full coverage
Size: Medium, Color: A-multicolor(6 Pack)
These are not full coverage and are the cheapest underwear in every way. The fabric is rough, and the seams around the edges of the leg openings are exposed. I ordered medium for my 28" waist and 38" hips. They fit... except for the buttcheek debut. I gave them to my 12 year old daughter to wear because she's not picky. Plus, they were cheap. She's happy. I'm still searching for full coverage undies.
Update: The seller reached out regarding my review, and I'm impressed with their customer service. The cotton softened up upon washing and drying (no sand paper undies), and my daughter is very pleased with them.

Comfortable and cool. Does not ride up.
Color: 01-multicolour (4-pack), Size: Medium
Extremely comfortable. Stays cool. Ample coverage. Quality material. They do not creep up. I ordered a medium which I generally take a size small. I have reordered and will reorder again to add more colors to my collection.

Great Value for Cool Thigh Protection
Color: 02-multicolour (4-pack), Size: XX-Large
For the price, I'm not sure there are better women's boxer shortlettes anywhere. I've tried more expensive brands, and for quality and cooling, these are right up there. I have other bamboo viscose undies that still get gross when I get sweaty in the summer, but these, with the large mesh panel, really help wick away a lot of that moisture, keeping you feeling dryer and cooler. I find that the leg openings are comfortable and don't roll up! and the waist band doesn't dig, nor does it roll down. These do not provide any compression, and I wasn't looking for any. I just wanted some cooling, thigh protecting women's boxers that wouldn't break the bank. These are them! Bonus- I've washed them and put them in the dryer (following their instructions), and they haven't shrunk; they look about the same and are nice and soft.
