The “Hands On” collection is characterised by four main elements: the bronze figurines, the artist’s hand pattern, the geometrical elements and the crisp colours. In “Solidarity” all these elements are perfectly balanced in an intriguing piece. The pattern on the circles is created by the ink stamp of his own miniaturised hand, emphasising on how his own journey and life experiences is translated into his work. The labyrinth of circles is topped with a bronze figurine at the centre – one of the iconic elements of Joly’s work. The intense blue, mixed and developed by the artists, brings the sculpture together in a beautiful contrast of colours and textures.

“Hands On” is an homage to Nic’s roots, representing the artist revisiting his former self and bringing the experience and skills of the formative years in carpentry to the present. See more of Hands On here.
